JONES, John Beauchamp 1810-1866 - A journalist, he established the Southern Monitor (1857), supporting Southern interests. His works include Books of Visions (1847); Rural Sports, a Poem (1848), The Western Merchant (1848), Wild Western Scenes (1849), The Rival Belles (1852), Life and Adventures of a Country Merchant (1854), Freaks of Fortune (1854), and a Rebel War Clerk's Diary at the Confederate States Capital (1866).
