When I lived in Paris, Christmas was nowhere as visible an event as it was in American cities. Boy, has that changed - the stores go all out and every quarter of the city has its own lights in the streets. Here's just a taste.
NOTE: France is officially a secular country and the city's own lighting displays are "End of Year Illuminations" with no specific denominational references.
