You don't understand. I have to scare them, I have to make them think I'm dangerous, that's why I bought it, so they'd know not to mess with me, so they'd take one look and go, "Oh no. That guy's trouble. We better keep away."

It wasn't so I could hurt anyone, that's not what was supposed to happen, I didn't mean for that, I didn't mean for that to happen at all.

Least of all, a teacher. Who expected a teacher to get involved? That was wrong, that wasn't in the plan. Only, don't you see, I was already scared, I was already on the lookout and so, when he came up to me, when he tried to take it away, well I just reacted, that's all, it's not like I even thought about it, it's just I was ready, ready for trouble like I always am, like I've been all year, ready for one of those kids to come up to me, and then whatever, because you never know whatever, you never know whatever happens next, which way to look, what to protect yourself from, and so I brought it, and that teacher saw it, and he tried to take it away and I reacted, that’s all, I reacted like I'd been ready to, every minute of every day, only it wasn't one of those kids, it was him, and I'm sorry, I'm sorry my fear got crooked, and the wrong person got hurt.
