Welcome to Chez Jim's [once again deactivated] Guestbook

HOW TO KILL A GUESTBOOK
Thanks to various spammers - mainly German and Austrian, with a few English language purveyors of golf courses, timeshare, porn, etc. - for months, almost all the posts to this guestbook were long removed almost as soon as they were made. THEN I put in a different piece of guestbook software, only to find numerous people from various countries trying to hack it. But nobody using it (with one exception, reposted here). So we're back to... no guestbook. If anyone wants to e-mail me directly - jimcheval [take out this and the spaces] @ [same thing] aol.com - I might add the entry in the format used below. But if you see less and less sites using guestbooks, now you know why: they're hackers' playgrounds.

Yay, first signer! I really, really wanted to say THANK YOU for writing [Big smile] ! Your monologue, Sister Santa, was the first one that I have ever performed (heck, before this summer, when I discovered your website, I didn't even know what a monologue was :P ). For some reason unknown to me, that single monologue has inspired me to become a performer :l . Yup. Well, Anywho THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

I have enjoyed reading about the Wilhoit's. I just bought at an auction in Roanoke, Va. a store glass jar. The name on the jar is Wilhoite's Peanut Butter Sandiches in Washington,D.C. I have never seen this jar before and wanted to know if you knew when this company was in business. By the looks of the jar, it looks to be from the 1920's-1930's. Thanks for a great web page. Norman

I hate to be the one to continue beating a dead horse, but I have to way in on Marlene Mendoza. I have a hard time believing that she would even post anything to this guestbook after the mess that she created for so many people. Now unlike others, I believe that she really thought she was going to receive the disbursement of funds that she got ripped off for. However, I gave her money in 1999, and the fact that she was STILL taking money from others when she know that she owed me a minimum of $22,500.00 and who knows how much else to others, is when it became fraud and theft. I have paperwork, including proceedings from the American Arbitration Association who I contacted per HER agreement, and whom she ignored and accused of harassing her. Anyone that wishes to discuss this subject can email me at anytime, but I think that we ought to let Jim have his site back, free from our venting about our dealings with this woman.

I have not posted here in nearly a year, but I felt compelled after seeing Marlene Mendoza's last response. I personally signed three (3) separate contracts with Mendoza where she demands "fully refundable retainers" be paid to her (in my case for a total of $7,000) in order to move ahead. No retainer, no deal. As with nearly a dozen other victims, she cancelled the contracts, promised to pay me back, then reneged. I sued her, I won, then she filed for bankruptcy. I also have in my possession a letter from a former detective at the Palm Springs police department implying that both he and the D.A. know she is a dishonest con woman, but that it would be much to hard to prove, and hence the case did not go to criminal court.

Sadly, Mendoza will probably threaten to sue Chez Jim with bogus lawsuits, as she keeps threatening to sue me. Notice we never hear from her lawyer? Jim, thanks for allowing the victims of Mendoza a place to try and save others from the same pain, anger, and disgrace this woman caused us. She told me "God brought me into your life to make your dreams come true." I didn't know an empty bank account and a crushed spirit were my dreams.

We have never asked Don Goodman for money in our life! If anything he stole 1/2 hour of free advice. Our website clearly states an Executive Summary first be presented not synopsis (that's only part of the business plan) It's the investment group's requirement out of Europe. We're not the investors. I take it the investors rejected Don Goodman's project and same with the other signer theman@aol.com
They can't take rejection well so have to target the one that referred them to the investment group. The investment group had their legal staff send letters out to producers that were defaming their name but Marlene ends up being the punching bag. Well, there's several producers doing quite well this year and they never paid one dime in advance to Ms. Mendoza for her referral to the investment group. She put in six months of free advice and gets paid on commission only. Only producers that specifically want consulting on film packaging and distribution help will receive consulting on a separate contract that's agreeable in advance. All projects that went to our recent investment group we have not charged a dime. So, for Goodman to state we charged him is a flat out lie! Same with the other source theman@aol.com
They just don't take rejection well. The investment group must have sent them a rejection letter!

Here's a little info Marlene, no producer or investor in the world will call back after a day based on a synopsis. They want to see a script and than if thats good theyll give you 5 minutes of their time, they would never spend half an hour on the phone smooth talkin' them and never ask for money, if anything they would send the filmmaker money.

Restraining order filed in Indio court and cc: Palm Springs Police Dept. against Kimber O'Neil. O'Neil, Freidler, Lord are in violation of court making these listings. Report filed against Bryan Lord 653M last year due to harassment at PSPD. Jim Allen keeps harassing Ms. Mendoza via email and phone for no reason except to harass. Money laudering accusations from the previous guest book signer will be sued along with Kimber O'Neil for defamation if he doesn't remove it. Kimber stole Ms. Mendoza's name and even her photo from her site and lied about amounts owed. No amounts are presently owed to these people. Attempts to collect are in violation of recent court documents. Go ahead and post more listings, the more the money that will be awarded to Ms. Mendoza especially about the one stating money laundering, that's a good one. Ms. Mendoza presently consults with producers and her main instructions are do not give money to investors for commitments or anything until they show proof of funds. Ms. Mendoza lost $200,000.00 to John Ias(not completing the name) in Las Vegas last year and year before because he promised her $878Mil. He scammed her out of a lot of money and forced her to start over. Being vindictive is not the answer. Vengeance is mine says the Lord. He knows who the one that caused the pain! He knows which producers lied about having docs they couldn't prove and which investors lied to whom. With recent restraining orders which can be reactivated at any time, please notify me (I'm sure Jim Allen will find me) and let me know where she lists, makes accusations next so I can file a report for violation.)

Who in the hell does Marlene Mendoza think she is? That crook has been operating a faulty film finance company for years. She has never made a film nor does she have a clue as to how one is made. The only movie we'll ever see her in is the one of her confession to the Palm Springs Police Deptartment about how she has screwed countless producers over the years out of their hard-earned money. She can run, but she can't hide from the FBI. Oh yes, they are coming.

Marlene Mendoza is truly a scam artist. If you don't believe me, just check with the Palm Springs Police Department. As far as being jealous of her, PLEASE... She doesn't know a thing about filmmaking or raising money - except for how to steal it from people. I have made 3 independent features before and work full time for a major commercial production company as Executive Producer - which I have been for 12 years. Ms. Mendoza is a con artist. Period.

Great site and some great monologues. I've sent a link to this page to several actor friends back in NYC who are looking for orginal pieces for auditions.

You mention Bard College elsewhere on this site. Did you attend? A good friend teaches (or taught there)Ron Bagden. Ever meet him?

Keep up the good work.

Hi Jim,
I saw that you have Film Capital Corporation listed under your resources. Let me just say that Marlene Mendoza who runs this so-called film financing company is a true scam artist in every sense of the word. She bulls---ted me from the start and convinced me to pay her $9,500 up front to secure financing that she said was a sure thing. She was nice until she got the money and then she turned psycho. I'm still trying to recover both the money and our dignity for letting this woman rip us off like that. Please let your readers know. Thanks.

Cybergreetings to James, my friend of (gasp!) 38 years. Your picture makes you look just young as you were when the gang of Puerto Rican kids kicked the crap out of you in front of that Madison Avenue diner.

While researching Nevelson for a CDROM I am writing I pulled up your site. Your Mom's entries made me smile. I had suggested a section on Louise's makeup tips, only in half jest, but I didn't know about the hats! I wonder who has the hats?
